Semester 1: Robotics with Legos!
Task 1: Design, create and program a robot which moves forward exactly 5 feet.
Task 3: Design, create and program a robot which moves in a square with side lengths 4 ft. Show calculations for how many rotations or degree rotations of the wheel are required to move the robot 4 ft. Task 2: Design create and program a robot which moves forward until it detects an object 5 inches in front of it. Task 4: Design, create and Program a robot that moves forward until it detects an object 5 inches away. Once it detects an object 5 inches away, it turns (left or right your choice) until there is no object within 15 inches of it, no more no less. The robot then repeats the whole process. Task 5: Design, create, and program a robot which stops when it detects a black line on the ground. Task 6: Design, create and program a robot which can follow ANY 2" thick black line. Task 7: Design, create and program a robot that drives forward and stops after crossing three black lines. After stopping, the robot backs up the same distance it traveled forward. Remember to document the first and last build designs as well as the final program in your notebook. Task 8: Design create and Program a robot which drives forward until it grabs a ball. If the ball is blue, the robot pushes the ball away and returns to it's original position. If the ball is red, the robot brings the ball back to it's original position. Task 9: Design, create, and build a robot that retrieves only the red ball from a 4'x4' space. Your robot will start at the corner of the space and the balls wills be randomly assigned to two specific spots in the area. A picture is provided for clarification. Task 10: Design, Build, and Program a robot that starts at the bottom of the stairs outside the classroom and ends at the top. Your robot's movement is confined to the stairs. Every piece of equipment used in the challenge must start at the bottom of the stairs and end at the top.

This section should include a sketch of your robot and a screenshot of your program as well as a written description of the intent behind the design.
2) What challenges did your robot encounter? This section should include a written report of why your robot was unable to complete the challenge. 3) What do you need to do to your robot design and your program in order to complete the challenge? |
